Thinking about building your personal brand but unsure if you have what it takes?
Do you believe that making money from your passion is only available for just a select few?
Well, think again.
We now live in a time where all you need is a laptop and an internet connection and you can package your passion and monetize your mind.
In this week’s Facebook Live, I broke down the 3 signs you need to start building your personal brand.
I hope one or all three of these reasons resonate with you because the fact that you’re reading this right now already shows me you have what it takes to start your own thing.
And check out the COMMUNITY LOVE from our awesome brand builders about the live stream:
1.You aren’t fulfilled at your current job.
Working in the corporate world can be tough. Really tough.
Especially if you work in an environment that doesn’t value what you bring to the table.
That restless feeling you get in the pit of your stomach every time you have to be “fake nice” to your coworkers and superiors?
Don’t ignore that feeling.
It’s your intuition letting you know that something is not right.
Your intuition is most likely trying to tell you that you don’t belong.
Instead of ignoring and suppressing that feeling, really tap into it.
Do you feel like you can’t express your ideas, you need to keep your head down and just do what you’re told?
Well, sorry to break it to ya but that’s just how it is in the corporate world.
If you’re not in a decision making position, you just have to shut up and stay in your place.
And knowing that you are creative and have gifts and skills that you want to share and you can’t can be EXTREMELY frustrating.
The solution: Start your own thing.
Even if it’s a side hustle to start. I’m not here preaching to quit your 9-5 and go and take on the world (if you have money saved up then sure no problem).
The longer you stay in a box at your job and continue to dim your light, you will always feel stifled and unfulfilled where you’re at.
Life is too short and precious for conformity and mediocrity.
2. You are Genuine About Helping People
Now starting your own brand isn’t 100% about you. It’s mainly about the people you serve.
In order to build a successful brand, you need to genuinely care about wanting to help people and make a difference.
MISSION > MONEY
If you don’t really care about helping people and you’re just in for the quick win, then personal branding probably isn’t for you.
It’s about serving and giving value to your audience day in and day out because you absolutely love what you do. Getting paid what you’re worth is just the icing on the cake.
And don’t take your audience for granted either. They can tell when you actually care or when you’re just about the sale and making a quick buck.
It’s about serving over selling. That’s how you win.
3. You are a leader
This one is so important because building a personal brand is a leadership role.
As I mentioned before, it’s not about you. It’s about building a tribe of people around your brand.
Rally other people who share the same goals, values, and passions as you.
In society, we’re taught to follow, not lead.
They try to teach us to follow the herd (conformity), instead of creating your own path (leadership).
But building your own brand is about breaking the traditional rules and creating your own.
It’s about believing in yourself before anyone really believes in you and having an unwavering commitment to make your dream a reality. No matter how many obstacles you face.
But as a leader, it’s also very important to be humble enough to be realistic of where you’re currently at on your brand building journey.
It’s about knowing you have the potential for greatness but also knowing you need to invest in help to get there.
As a leader, you need to invest in your education, your skills, and the things that you’re not good at, so you can focus on your “zone of genius” and serve your audience.
I’ve invested thousands of dollars into coaches, online programs, and attending network events so I could acquire the knowledge and skills to get me to where I want to be.
Building your brand is a marathon, not a sprint.
You have to continuously invest in yourself if you want to make it to the next level.
If you know you have passion, and drive, and great work ethic, and resilience than what are you waiting for?
All you have to do is claim your power and say you’re going to start.
